President Muhammadu Buhari has taken to his Twitter page to celebrate the newly found Covid-19 vaccine which offers about 90% protection from the virus.

The potential COVID-19 vaccine is being developed by Pfizer and BioNTech has been found to be more than 90% effective.

The vaccine has reportedly been tested on more than 43,500 participants during Phase 3 — the final stage of development when it is given to thousands to test its efficacy and safety.

Taking to his Twitter page, the president welcomed the news and urges the world to make great effort to distribute the said vaccines nationwide, he wrote; “I welcome the news that a Coronavirus vaccine has recorded 90% effectiveness in clinical trials. This is a major milestone. The world must now make great effort to facilitate equitable access and distribution of these vaccines, to protect people in ALL countries.”
