24year-old-boy Impersonate Glo Owner Mike Adenuga, Defrauds Victims Off N1.5million (See Photo)


The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man who had been impersonating popular business tycon, Michael Adenuga. The suspect, one Ehinboh Lucky, was caught, after defrauding an unsuspecting member of the public to the tune of N1.5 million.

The fake Mike Adenuga was arrested after one of his victims, Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye, lodged a complaint through a petition to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a press release made available to our correspondent in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said the suspected fraudster opened a fake Facebook account to defraud people.

Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the fraudster demanded a sum of N1.5 million to allegedly influence the victim’s employment into Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC.

The statement read in part, “The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Ehioboh Lucky, 24 years old, for impersonating Dr. Mike Adenuga.

“The suspect was arrested following a complaint by one Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye whom the suspect has defrauded up to the tune of N1,028,770.

“The suspect, who hails from Edo State opened a Facebook account with the name and picture of the business mogul which he has been using to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye came into contact with him on Facebook where he promised to get employment for him at Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) but the victim has pay the sum of #1.5 million to settle some members of management board of the cooperation who will influence his appointment.

“The sum of N1,028,770 has so far been paid to suspect before the victim realized that he is a fraudster.”

The PPRO said one iPhone 6, one Dell laptop, eight different SIM cards, five different ATM cards and one international passport, were recovered from the suspected fraudster.

He said the suspect will be charge to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
