Former Argentina manager, Alfio Basile has picked six favourite countries to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will start on Monday, November 21.
Senegal will take on the Netherlands in Group A at the Al Thumama Stadium, followed by hosts Qatar against Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium.
And Basile believes the likes of Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany and Spain are favourites to win the World Cup this year.
Speaking with Super Mitre (via Mundo Albiceleste), Basile said: “Argentina are candidates [to win the 2022 World Cup] with France, Brazil, Germany and England. Spain too, although they lack a little experience.”
He added, “Argentina played well in all lines, both in a group and individually and were far superior to Italy. Italy doesn’t have a single “crack” compared to us. It was a show against Uruguay, better than against Italy.
“Today, everything is great but let’s not get big, let’s remain humble. I like how the team presses, they all press.”
“Messi is always a phenomenon. Today, with Lautaro Martinez, you are sure of a goal in the matches.”
