Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the main reason he showed faith in inspiring Nigeriann youngster, Alex Iwobi
Following Gunners victory over Hull city on Saturday, Wenger hailed the performance of Iwobi who grabbed two assists in the 4-1 victory over the Tigers.
The Nigerian attacker broke into the Premier League towards the end of the last season and it appears Wenger is a big admirer of the youngster’s talent.
The Frenchman said: ‘I started him last year because I’ve seen that there’s something in him that is quality of vision, quality of give and go, of movement,
‘He can break the lines with a pass and individually as well, so there’s a lot in the locker.
‘Overall, he’s only 20 years old so you could see that he has gained in confidence now. He can take people on much more and he has gained power as well. It’s interesting what he has done.’
Since he broke into Arsenal first team, Iwobi has gone on to surprise the Emirates faithfuls with impressive performances.
