A suicide bomber killed himself and another person after he attacked a mosque in Dalori quarters outskirts of Maiduguri Borno State, according to the National Emergency Management Agency in the state.

The suicide bomber targeted a congregation of Muslim worshippers in Dalori area on the outskirts of Maiduguri at around 5:40am when he was stopped by a security guard as he tried to gain access into the mosque.

“When the security guard overpowered the child suicide bomber, he detonated the bomb,” one of the worshippers told reporters.

The incident opposite the University of Maiduguri. The other dead person is believed to be a student of the university. Dalori is a few kilometers from a major Internally Displaced Camp in Maiduguri. This is the second attack around UNIMAID in two weeks
