Transfer window: ‘Biggest club in the world’ – De Jong Speaks On Leaving Barca For Man United

Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong says he is happy at the ‘biggest club in the world’, Barcelona, but is ‘flattered’ by Manchester United’s rumoured interest.

The player, however, told reporters last night that he has no update on a potential transfer and remains happy at Nou Camp.

The 25-year-old has emerged as a top target for new Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag as the Dutchman looks to bolster the Red Devils’ midfield this summer.

Barcelona are understood to be holding out for as much as £70million for the Netherlands international.

De Jong is said to have opened the door to a potential move to Manchester United after turning down the move initially.

Speaking after helping Netherlands beat Wales on Tuesday night in Rotterdam, De Jong said of United’s approach, “You’re always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player.

“But, as you say, I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment and I feel fine there, so no news.”
