The Lagos State Government has finally released a statement commiserating with people who lost their loved ones in the tanker explosion on Otedola Bridge that claimed at least nine lives.
Recall that many people got hurt after a fuel-laden tanker exploded along the bridge. The tanker was reportedly heading towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when the accident occurred. And from videos shared by eyewitnesses, the blazing fire could be seen licking at vehicles, while thick plumes of smoke curled in the sky.
At least 54 vehicles were engulfed in the fire.
Now, the Lagos State Government has spoken, and it promises to continue to ensure that measures at put in place to avoid a repeat of such tragedy.

“On behalf of the Lagos State Government, we extend our deepest commiseration to the families of persons who lost their lives as well as properties to the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of pain and grief.
As a government, we would not relent in putting measures in place to ensure safety of lives and property of all residents.”
