Former Boko Haram Spokesman Arrested For A Second Time In Senator Ali Ndume’s House


For the second time in the records, self-proclaimed spokesman of Boko Haram who was sentenced to three years imprisonment has been rearrested at the residence of Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.

The self-proclaimed spokesman of Boko Haram, Ali Sanda Umar Konduga, also known Al-Zawahiri, who was sentenced to three years imprisonment has been rearrested at the residence of Majority Leader of Senate Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume. Mr. Konduga was recently released from incarceration.

According to a family source, Mr. Konduga’s father and family had claimed he is mentally unstable and snuck into Mr. Ndume’s house the night before Sallah at 8pm on Sunday. He insisted that he wanted to see the Senator who was in Saudi Arabia for the 2016 Hajj exercise.

Sources said Mr. Konduga was identified, beaten beyond recognition, and rearrested on Wednesday after he snuck into the Senator’s House for the third consecutive time beginning from Sunday 11th September 2016.

Mr. Konduga was arraigned before Abuja High Court along with Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South), whom Mr. Konduga accused of sponsoring him to undertake Boko Haram activities. Mr. Ndume had pleaded not guilty to charges of passing classified information to an unauthorized person and of criminal intimidation.

“As luck will run against him, Konduga came back again to the house on Wednesday at about 4pm, where he was identified by some close associates of Ndume who used to accompany the senator to the Federal High Court in Abuja then.

“Policemen in charge of G.R.A police station were alerted and rearrested Konduga. He is now in police cell, while Senator Ndume has been informed.”

The source further revealed that Mr. Konduga has been taken to Federal Neuro-psychiatric Hospital, Maiduguri at about 10am on Friday to ascertain his mental health and handed over to appropriate authorities if found mentally fit.

Senator Ali Ndume could not be reached for comment as he is presently out of the country for 2016 Hajj.

Mr. Konduga according to family source, “kept on coming to the Senator’s house to apologize to the immediate family for indicting Ndume”.
