A lawsuit filed against Nigerian music stars, Burna Boy, Davido, Falz and 47 other #EndSars activists has been stopped by the Federal Capital Territory High court in Bwari, Abuja on Wednesday 13 January 2021.
The lawsuit was filed by a lawyer, Kenechukwu Okeke, and led to Magistrate Omolola Akindele ordering the Commissioner of Police in the FCT to investigate those mentioned.
Okeke cited loss of properties and panic amongst residents of the FCT as reasons for the lawsuit.
Federal High court judge Justice Bello Kawu who gave the order for proceedings in the case to be halted also barred the police from taking any actions on any of the accused.
Persons affected by the suit instituted by Okeke are Innocent Idibia (2baba), Tiwa Savage, Peter and Paul Okoye (defunct P-square), David Adeleke (Davido), Damini Ogulu (Burna boy), Folarin Falana (Falz), Debo Adebayo (Mr Macaroni) and Maryam Akpaokagi (Taoma) amongst others.
