Shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) succumbed to the postponement of the Edo governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the decision as a coup against the people.
The PDP made its view known through a statement issued by its spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, yesterday.
The opposition party also warned that considering the political trend, the country’s democracy would suffer immensely if the All Progressive Congress (APC) does not undo its Gestapo leadership style.
Recall that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the election which was initially slated for Saturday, 10th September, 2016 following request by Police and the Department of State Service (DSS).
The commission however bowed to pressure yesterday as it announced that the election will now hold in 2 weeks time.
