The Department of State Services has said it is joining the police in probing the incident that led to the death of a policeman attached to the Osun State Police Command.
A DSS spokesman, Dr Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, had on Tuesday, advised the DSS to produce its officers who allegedly killed Corporal Rauf Fawale.
Three DSS officers were reported to have killed Fawale on January 23 in controversial circumstances.
Olokode stated that the DSS should produce the officers at the state police headquarters, Osogbo, for investigation and prosecution.
But Afunanya, in the statement, assured that the DSS would not condone indiscipline.
He said, “The attention of the Department of State Services has been drawn to the incident that led to the death of a police corporal in Osun State.
“Consequently, the Service and the police are jointly investigating the matter. The public should be rest assured that it will not condone any acts of indiscipline or injustice.”
