The Dangote Fertiliser plant in Lagos will start production in the next one week, The Nation has learnt.
The plant is the second largest in the world.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during his two-day working visit to the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos Free Zone and Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Zone at the weekend, said he would officially open the plant.
The governor, who also toured other facilities in the zones, expressed delight at the level of investment.
He promised that his administration would continue to support such investment and ensure they enjoy the ease of doing business.
“We came here to see things for ourselves, encourage the investors and assure them of government support. We are here to serve them and ensure they enjoy the ease of doing business, which is critical to us. We are also here to ensure that jobs are created, especially for our youths, the local economy and for Nigerians in general.
“And all the places we visited, it was evident that Lagosians are being employed, the local indigenes are being employed,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said the factory would churn out fertilisers in the next one week while the official opening would be done in one month.
