Tekno is not shying away from controversy by publicly taking shots at the organisers of the Headies Awards.
‘Dem nominate me for award say dem disqualify me, you be God?,’ the singer said in pidgin English before his performance at the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged.
‘I am very happy, Tekno said. ‘Because them no give me award no mean anything.’
Tekno’s 2016 Headies ‘Next Rated’ nomination was withdrawn by the award jury for failing to participate in all of the required activities by organisers leading up to the event.
Wizkid‘s Starboy Entertainment act, Mr. Eazi took home the prize which came with a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV at the award ceremony on December 22. Eazi beat out Ycee, Aramide and ‘Osinachi’ singer, Humblesmith to the award.
The singer who was the last act to perform at the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged concert was cheered by the crowd as he did ‘Wash’, ‘Diana’, ‘Where’, and ‘Pana’.
