APC Chairmanship Candidate ”Hon. Thompson Osagie” Flags Off Ward-to-Ward Campaign in Orhionmwon

Massive Turnout as Evboesi, Urhonigbe South and Urhonigbe North Declare Support for APC Ahead of July 11 Council Election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Hon. Thompson Osagie, on Monday July 29, 2026, officially commenced his ward-to-ward campaign across Evboesi Ward, Urhonigbe South and Urhonigbe North, receiving overwhelming support from party faithful and residents as preparations intensify for the July 11, 2026 Local Government Council Elections.
The campaign, which was led by Hon. Osagie and his running mate, Hon. Felix Obamwonyi, attracted an impressive gathering of party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women and supporters, underscoring the APC’s growing popularity and grassroots acceptance across the local government.
The campaign train was accompanied by the Orhionmwon APC Chairman, Comrade Julius Agbonze; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Solomon Uhunmwangho; APC elder statesman and former party chairman, Hon. Matthew Ehigie; Orhionmwon APC Secretary, Elder Larry Enobakhare; Women Leader, Mrs. Elizabeth Ehimwenma; APC Orhionmwon South House of Assembly Candidate, Amb. Etinosa Endurance Odiase; former Edo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Nosayaba Okunbor; former Leader of the Orhionmwon Legislative Arm, Hon. Tony Egharevba; former Vice Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon. Eratiomwan Shola; Princess Amadin Iduoze; Hon. Joseph Ighavogbe; Hon. Samuel Iduoze; Mr. Moses Osagie; Madam Esther Osemwengie, Madam Justina; Comrade Charles Osakue; Hon. Sunday Ogbeiwi; Comrade Edokoolor Idahosa; Engr. Monday Omoefe; Hon. Tony Ogbezuwa; Supervising Councillor for Health and Environment, Hon. Edughan Osagie, and several other party stalwarts.
Welcoming party supporters at Evboesi Ward, Elder Larry Enobakhare commended the people for turning out in large numbers despite their busy schedules, describing the crowd as a clear demonstration of confidence in the APC.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the party’s candidates and solicit their support for Hon. Thompson Osagie, his running mate Hon. Felix Obamwonyi, and the APC Councillorship Candidate for Evboesi Ward, Hon. Edomwonyi Ogbodu.
Elder Enobakhare urged the electorate to vote massively for all APC candidates to enable them continue the developmental strides already being witnessed across Orhionmwon.
The APC Chairman, Comrade Julius Agbonze, thereafter formally presented the candidates to the enthusiastic gathering. He noted that the progress recorded by Hon. Thompson Osagie since assuming office deserved continuity, urging the people to renew their mandate by voting overwhelmingly for the APC.
He also introduced the APC Candidate for Orhionmwon South Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Amb. Etinosa Endurance Odiase, asking the people to identify with him ahead of the forthcoming House of Assembly election.
Speaking amid loud cheers, Hon. Thompson Osagie thanked the people of Evboesi for the warm reception and unwavering support.
He assured them that his administration would pay special attention to the developmental needs of the community.
“I have listened carefully to your concerns. I have heard people say there is little government presence in this community. I want to assure you that we will build a modern market here. During the dry season, we shall also reconstruct and grade your roads. Support us with your votes, and together we will bring more development to Evboesi.”
Also speaking, the APC Councillorship Candidate, Hon. Edomwonyi Ogbodu, pledged to remain a committed representative of the ward.
He assured residents that he would consistently bring their challenges to the attention of the Chairman, while expressing confidence that Hon. Osagie would continue delivering quality infrastructure and improved security across Orhionmwon.
From Evboesi, the campaign train proceeded to Urhonigbe South, where another mammoth crowd welcomed the APC delegation.
Among those who received the campaign team were former Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Pius Egberamwen Odubu; Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Etinosa Ogbeiwi; Ward Chairman, Comrade Mathew; Elder David Odaru; Comrade R. E. Osayande; John Uhunmwangho; Hon. Otaniyen Igbinosa; Kingsley Omobude; Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Endurance Egharevba; Hon. Bright Guobadia; Efe Egharevba; Barr. Eseosa Ikpoba, and several other APC leaders and supporters.
Addressing party faithful, Comrade Julius Agbonze reminded the people that the election was another opportunity to strengthen the APC’s leadership in Orhionmwon.
He formally presented Hon. Thompson Osagie, Hon. Felix Obamwonyi and the APC Councillorship Candidate for Urhonigbe South, Hon. Osayande Idehen, who were all received with thunderous applause.

In his remarks, Hon. Thompson Osagie described Urhonigbe as home, recalling that he began his primary education there and maintained deep family ties with the community.
“Urhonigbe is part of me. I started my primary education here, my parents have strong roots here, and I consider myself one of you. I therefore appeal to you to support us on July 11 by voting for all APC candidates. I also present to you your son, Amb. Etinosa Endurance Odiase, who will soon seek your mandate to represent Orhionmwon South in the Edo State House of Assembly, as well as Hon. Osayande Idehen.”
The campaign train later arrived at Urhonigbe North, where the atmosphere was equally electrifying.
Leading the APC campaign were former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Pius Egberamwen Odubu, Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Osamwonyi Atu, Wesley Aghahowa Ewaen, alongside other leaders who had accompanied the campaign train from previous wards.
Other notable dignitaries present included Chief Isaac Omoruyi; Orhionmwon APC Vice Chairman, Comrade Solomon Iyamu; Ward Chairman, Comrade Daniel Imade; Ward Secretary, Hon. Jolly Odubu; Izekor; Nosakhare Igbinedion, among several others.
Speaking to the gathering, Rt. Hon. Pius Odubu called on the electorate to vote massively for the APC, stressing that the success of the party’s candidates would further strengthen the political fortunes of Orhionmwon.
He also reminded the people that their son, Amb. Etinosa Endurance Odiase, would soon seek election into the Edo State House of Assembly, urging them to remain united behind the APC.
Comrade Julius Agbonze later presented the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Thompson Osagie; his running mate, Hon. Felix Obamwonyi; the Urhonigbe North Councillorship Candidate, Hon. Enoma Evidence; and Amb. Etinosa Endurance Odiase to the jubilant crowd.
He urged the people to make the forthcoming election a clean sweep for the APC by voting for all its candidates.
A major highlight of the campaign was the formal defection of members of other political parties into the All Progressives Congress.
The defectors were officially received into the APC by the Orhionmwon APC Chairman, Comrade Julius Agbonze, the Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Osamwonyi Atu, and other party leaders amidst celebration and jubilation by party faithful.
The successful flag-off of the ward-to-ward campaign further demonstrated the APC’s strong grassroots structure in Orhionmwon, with party leaders expressing optimism that the overwhelming support witnessed across the three wards would translate into a resounding victory for Hon. Thompson Osagie and all APC candidates in the July 11 Local Government Council Elections.
