Billiana Stages Comeback With New Project ”Resonate” Signals Fresh Music Era

Lagos-based singer-songwriter Billiana is turning the page on his career with the launch of his new project, Resonate. Far from a setback, he calls it a comeback — the start of a bold new chapter.

Known offstage as David Ayomide Odeyemi, Billiana has been steadily carving out his lane in Nigeria’s music scene. With _Resonate_, he’s doubling down on the sound and storytelling that first earned him attention.

From Campus Stages to Full-Time Craft:
Billiana’s music journey blends Afrobeats, Afropop, and Trap, tied together by honest, emotionally-driven lyrics. Born in Osun State and raised in Lagos, he caught the music bug early, inspired by live shows and Nigeria’s biggest stars.

He stepped into music in 2016 and hit the studio professionally by 2020. His debut single, “Whyne For Me,” came out under the name Daecon Billiana before he shortened it to simply Billiana — a move he says reflects his growth and bigger vision.

Catalogue and Collaborations:
Since then, he’s built a diverse catalogue touching on love, ambition, vulnerability, and personal growth. His breakout track “Dutty Whyne” remains his most-streamed on Spotify, crossing 113,000 plays. He’s also teamed up with fellow Nigerian act Hyce on “Necessary,” showing his range across genres.

Recognition on the Rise:
”Resonate” arrives after a wave of campus recognition in 2026. Billiana picked up Entertainer of the Year from the Yaba College of Technology Students’ Union Government, plus the National Association of Polytechnic Technology Students’ People’s Choice Award for Artist of the Year. His song “Kaluba” also earned him the Timeless Campus Music Award from the National Association of Hospitality Management Students.

A Hospitality Management graduate of Yabatech, Billiana juggled lectures and studio sessions before going all-in on music after graduation.

”Eyes on a Wider Stage”
Citing influence from Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema, Billiana says his mission is simple: tell real stories through contemporary African sound. With _Resonate_, he’s aiming beyond Nigeria — pushing his music to new listeners while holding onto the message that every comeback can be the start of something bigger.
