Nigerian singer and record producer, Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known as Runtown, has revealed that he wrote and co-produced one of Davido’s biggest hit singles, Aye.

He made this revelation during a QnA session on Twitter in response to a question by a fan named “Magnifico.”

“@iRuntown Who wrote Aye?” he asked.

This new revelation, however, contradicts Davido’s reported claim that Nigerian producer, Tspize, was responsible for writing and producing the hit single.

Aye was released on February 1, 2014. The Wikipedia page for the song has David Adeleke, Davido as the songwriter for this particular song.

In March 2014, Information Nigeria reported how Davido allegedly persuaded Runtown to sell the song to him.

While many find this new development strange, songwriting isn’t a crime, and songwriters play a very pivotal role in the music industry.
